Sailesh Savani

Sailesh Savani is the IT Director of Nakumatt Holdings Ltd., one of the largest chain of retailers in Kenya. Sailesh has been associated with Nakumatt since 1995 first as a key supplier of IT systems and now since 2006, serves as an executive member on the board of the company. Sailesh has been instrumental in the implementation of various retail specific IT systems including introduction of bar coding in Nakumatt as well as the most successful Smart Card based loyalty program. Sailesh has also been a key contributor in the conception and implementation of the Smart Card based revenue collection system for Kenya Wildlife Service.

Qualified with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Bombay University and a Diploma in Computer Science, at Nakumatt, Sailesh looks after the IT functions and is also the CEO of Cybercash Ltd., the company that runs the Nakumatt Smart Card .

Sailesh was one of the founder directors of EAN Kenya, a position that he eventually gave up much before the formation of GS1 (The Bar Coding authority in Kenya), owing to too many professional and personal commitments. 

Sailesh is also a Director and Shareholder at CompuLynx, the leading retail solutions provider enterprise that deals in complete solutions for retailers including implementation of Oracle Retail, Compulynx being an Oracle ISV partner for Retail in Africa.
