Career Highlights:

Mr. Wachira began his career with the then Credit Finance Corporation now CFC Bank as a Deposits Officer in 1991.  Subsequently, he joined the Senator Card Limited now a division of Southern Credit Banking Corporation as the Credit Control Manager.  Thereafter he had opportunity to work for a pioneer credit card company in Zambia called Executive Card as the Chief Executive.

He joined the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) in 1998 at a time when the company was reinventing itself to provide a consumer credit referencing service to the financial sector in Kenya.

He has since worked for the CRB (now renamed CRBAfrica reflecting its Africa-wide operations) and been actively involved in the promotion of a credit reporting culture as a means of credit risk management in the financial systems in emerging countries in Africa.

Mr.Wachira is currently the Group Operations Director of CRBAfrica and Chairman of the East African Credit Bureau Association.

Professional Qualifications and Memberships:

Mr.Wachira is an Economist by qualification and a member of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA).
